How often is the data updated? +
Grover syncs from the City of Calgary's open data portal every day at 6 AM. Calgary's own publication process adds ~2 days, so permits are typically 2–3 days old when they appear on the map. The exact last-updated date is visible in your account.
What areas do you cover? +
Calgary, AB — 975,000+ building permits going back to 1999, plus 190,000+ development permits (land use, rezoning, subdivision) going back to 1979. Edmonton and Vancouver are on the roadmap and coming in a future update.
Where does the data come from? +
Directly from the City of Calgary's official open data portal under the Open Government Licence. Grover pulls it daily, normalises permit types from the raw city categories into 15 clean types (roofing, HVAC, new construction, etc.), geocodes addresses onto the map, and keeps everything up to date automatically.
